Such a favorite with customers, our mint tea tree contains a blend of peppermint, spearmint and tea tree essential oils. Peppermint and spearmint are both known for being both soothing and invigorating, as well as having cooling properties that can help with skin inflammation and redness. Tea tree contains terpinen-4-ol, a compound that has been shown to kill certain bacteria, viruses and fungi, making this soap an outstanding hand soap for people trying to avoid chemical antibacterial soaps. When showering, the oils in this soap are released into the steam, and the inhalation of these oils has been used for centuries to help clear congestion, ease headaches, and soothe coughs.
Tea tree is also well known as a natural deoderizer, and for fighting bacteria that can cause unpleasant body odors.
As if the reputed benefits of all of these essential oils wasn't enough, we've added poppyseeds to this bar, an additive which I like to refer to as "natures microbead". Synthetic microbeads are made of polyethylene, polypropylene, or polystyrene, and have been negatively impacting our environment since they became popular in the 1990s, when skin care companies were searching for a more cost effective exfoliant. In the past 5 years many people have been working and petitioning to ban the microbead, succesfully banning them in many states. Similarly smooth and round, the poppyseed works similarly to microbead, without the disasterous impact for our environment.
